Award-Winning Pump Control System

The launch of Retroflo’s award-winning RPC_2000 represents a breakthrough in pump control systems in terms of both process control and improved carbon management. Designed using a holistic rather than a traditional component-based approach to pump control, it is the first product on the market to offer Pre-Blockage Detection, Consent Security, Intelligent Flushing Cycles, Periodic Efficiency Testing, and Asset Data Storage, within a single system.

Byzak’s work in the water industry led to the development of the RPC_2000, a globally patented pump control system that can be retro-fitted to existing pumping stations or implemented as part of a new installation. The new system provides a level of control unique in the market, ensuring pumps operate at optimum efficiency through continuous dynamic monitoring of the pump characteristics, over a range of wet well levels and pump speeds.

The growing need for improved carbon management and reduced operational expenditure has been the driving-force behind the Retroflo project. The RPC_2000 has been proven to optimise efficiencies and improve the reliability and longevity of pumps. In operation at various sites the system has recorded impressive results, including a minimum 12 percent energy saving and a CAPEX payback within 12 months. The design of a universal system also means that it can be simply retro-fitted in existing pumping stations.

A key feature of the RPC_2000 is its patented Pre-Blockage Detection facility. Designed to combat the traditional problems associated with pumping a non-constant fluid, the system detects solids build-up on the pump impeller and initiates a self-cleansing sequence. This process has been proven to vastly reduce blockages and therefore the need for costly reactive maintenance call outs.
