 Harry Kaye - Framework Manager
I started with Byzak, over 20 years ago, as a young engineer and progressed to an estimator which involved pricing Works from a few thousand pounds to many millions of pounds. The advent of different Forms of Contract, and types of Procurement, has helped keep me on my toes. These have been embraced by the company, whose ethos focuses on flexibility and partnership. Training has been continuous and encouraged, and has resulted in my development to Framework Manager. My colleagues have been a great source of knowledge and expertise and have been very willing to assist my development. They are also good company in and out of the workplace, which helps when working away.
 Andy Laundon - Manager (Electrical and Mechanical)

Since joining Byzak over 10 years ago, my career has blossomed. In 2002 I was tasked with setting up Byzak’s in-house M&E division. Since its inception the division has grown to nearly 100 staff and currently holds strategic frameworks with some of the UK’s leading water companies. In more recent years the division has branched out into more specialist fields such as Telemetry, DSEAR and SCADA. My approach is based on gaining a clear understanding of end-user requirements before building a solution. I was involved in the research and development of the Retroflo Pump Control System and became Operations Director at the formation of the company in 2008.
Vikki Webb - SHE Coordinator
I graduated in 2001 with a degree in English Language but had no clear ideas about careers. I had several temporary jobs including office manager and a cook before gaining this job through an agency. After a 3 month trial I was offered the job on a permanent basis in April 2003. My post was newly created and it has developed to suit the needs of the company, meeting the challenge of changing health, safety and environmental legislation and practice. Since joining I have been encouraged to further my knowledge and develop my role within the company. My colleagues have not only helped me learn more about the industry but have proved to be a lot of fun both to work with and for socialising.
Mark Chorlton - Management Accountant
Having previously held a position within the Food Manufacturing Industry, I joined Byzak in 1998, after reaching the conclusion that there must be more to Accountancy than manufacturing. The challenge of a newly created role with the company has provided the opportunities for the development of financial reporting systems - a chance to stretch the individual and to play a role in taking the company forward. For those looking towards a career within the Construction Industry and the opportunity for self-development - Byzak is a company which provides great prospects across a range of disciplines. Since joining I have been impressed with the professional way the Company operates. There is a good team spirit, the Company is looking to expand and increase its turnover, which can only mean good prospects for promotion.
Barbara Holt - Marketing Secretary/Administrator
I have gained a lot of knowledge about the construction industry and have enjoyed meeting and greeting visitors to Byzak whenever I have been assisting in Reception at holiday times. Working for Byzak also has a very rewarding personal and social aspect. It is more like being a member of a close family than just working for a Company. Help and support is always on hand whether it is for work related reasons or on a personal level. Professional advice and practical help is always freely and happily given whenever it is needed. I began my time with Byzak as a Secretary/Administrator. My role has evolved over the 20 years that I have been with the Company. I also now provided support and assistance to the Pre-Qualification Department which has grown in significance in recent years as Health, Safety and Environmental issues have become more prominent. This is turn has made the work more challenging as well as more interesting and educational. It is always so rewarding when a contract is awarded to Byzak and one has seen its development all the way from the Pre-Qualification stage.
Michelle Ryle – Business Development Manager
Since joining Byzak my role has developed from the preparation and submission of Pre-Qualification and Proposal Documents to include liaising with Clients on a regular basis and managing Byzak’s external website. A main part of my role is to reassure clients and partners that Byzak is a capable and reliable business, this has not been a difficult task, as Byzak have an extremely professional and approachable ethos which puts Clients at ease. I have learned a great deal about the business, this is due to the high level of communication and organisation within Byzak. I find all my colleagues eager to help and feel very comfortable approaching Management with any queries. Byzak has a “Family Feel” and I was immediately made to feel like part of a successful team. |
